“Nothing brings people together like good food”
Nosh Narrabri aims to showcase products produced by local growers, food creators and beverage makers. Nosh brings the community together to enjoy - and celebrate - the best produce from across the region.
Nosh in 2017 was made up of three big events over two days – Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August – the Food and Wine Expo; the ‘Nosh On’ Night; and the Nosh Long Lunch.
On Saturday afternoon, the family-friendly Food and Wine Expo ran from 12pm to 5pm in the Nosh market square. The Expo featured a wide range of food and beverage exhibitors – from locally-produced fish and yabbies and organic fresh vegetables, to gourmet handmade cookies and pale ales. People sampled pickled cherries, snacked on a selection of macadamia and pecan nuts, and selected their favourite olive oil to take home. There was also live music, "The Cook-Off" competition (which was definitely a crowd favourite!), our home-brew and cheesecake competitions, and plenty of kids entertainment too. The Expo was open to all and free to attend: everyone could bring their friends and family!
Saturday night was the ‘Nosh On’ Night, which ran from 6:30pm until late. The market square was converted to a family-friendly concert space: people brought their chairs and picnic blanket and grabbed a space for a night of entertainment by local performers and major headliners, the iconic Aussie rockers Mental as Anything. General admission tickets were just $45, with a VIP experience available for $100.
Sunday afternoon was the Nosh Long Lunch, where 300 diners were treated to a five-course French-themed long lunch in partnership with Relish Catering and NW Marquee & Events. Tickets sold out in less than 48 hours via our online ticketing system.
Nosh is a family-friendly and easy-access event, suitable for all ages and abilities. Should you have an infirmity or disability that requires special assistance or access, please contact us prior to our event via [email protected] to discuss your specific needs.
The next Nosh Narrabri Food & Wine Festival will be held in late August, 2019.
